Dental bridge is a treatment method applied to replace missing teeth. It is aimed to continue the function by filling the gap caused by teeth lost for any reason. The reason why it is called a bridge is that it is applied with the support of the teeth on both sides of the gap. These teeth are abraded and they serve as bridge pillars with the prostheses we call crowns that come on top of them. Dental bridges, which are one of the frequently applied treatment methods, are applied with different materials and the material that is most suitable for the patient’s problem and preference is selected and applied. The purpose of the dental bridge is to correct the missing function in the patient’s mouth and to provide a better aesthetic. What is the application process of a dental bridge?<\/h3>\n

Intraoral and radiologic examinations of the patient are performed before the dental bridge treatment is started. The patient’s expectations are learned and the most appropriate treatment method is decided by the physician. After the patient’s approval is obtained, the treatment process begins. In the first session, the teeth in the area where the dental bridge will be applied are cut. The teeth that will serve as the bridge pillar are thinned to the appropriate thickness. The amount of this thinning varies according to the material to be applied as a prosthesis.<\/p>\n

Local anesthesia is applied to the teeth to reduce sensitivity during tooth cutting. After the tooth cutting is completed, the session is completed by attaching temporary prostheses to the teeth. At this stage, a period of time is waited for gum healing. Approximately one week later, the temporary prostheses are removed and the patient’s intraoral impression is taken to determine the tooth color. The impressions taken after these procedures are sent to the laboratory. After the dental bridges prepared in the laboratory are completed, the intraoral rehearsal is completed. If necessary corrections are needed, these are made, if there is no need for correction, the dental bridge is polished with the approval of the patient and applied to the patient with special adhesives. After about a week of acclimatization, the patient can use their teeth without any problems.<\/p>\n
