Occlusal splints are custom-made acrylic appliances to reduce pain and muscle spasms caused by dysfunctions due to the incompatibility of the jaw joint with the teeth. It can be applied to the upper or lower jaw. Depending on the problem in the patient, it may need to be used only at night or for 24 hours.
