Dental tomography is an imaging method that takes a cross-sectional image of the area to be examined in three dimensions. With dental tomography, bone and soft tissue details that are not seen in normal X-rays can be seen.

First, a two-way digital guidance image is taken. Then, while the patient is still in the device, the target area is determined in the image on the screen. A digital tomographic image of a 3D area is taken from the targeted area.
