The wisdom teeth are the third molars at the very back of the jaw. They are the last permanent teeth to erupt in the mouth. They come out between the ages of 17-25. Some people may not erupt at all. When wisdom teeth are properly lined up in the mouth, there is no problem. However, they usually do not erupt completely and are misaligned. For this reason, they can cause pain and infection. In such cases, wisdom teeth need to be extracted.
