Cephalometric X-rays are life-size films of the skull bones and soft tissues in anterior, posterior and lateral positions. It is generally used in orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery patients. It facilitates treatment planning as it shows the positions of the head and facial bones relative to each other.
