Orthognathic surgery is applied together with orthodontic treatment for the treatment of conditions such as front or back jaws and asymmetry after puberty. Before orthognathic surgery, the alignment of the teeth is corrected with orthodontic treatment. Afterwards, the positions of the jaws are corrected with orthognathic surgery. The surgery is performed under the supervision of an orthodontist.
